Folks, the site is now twitter enabled.

To set up your twitter account,

1. Login to the twin site.

2. Click My Account from the menu on the left.

3. Click Edit and then click Twitter Accounts.

4. Click Add Account. You will be redirected to the Twitter Site.

5. Twitter asks you to allow access to the twin-drupal application. Click Allow.

6. Login to twitter.

7. Twitter authenticates you and you are returned to the TWIN site.

Done. This is a one time process to add your twitter account.

I have noticed people posting jobs anywhere they like - in blogs and forums. This is NOT allowed.

Post JOBS only in the JOBS section. No where else.

Forums are meant for queries. If you have a query on something, post it in the appropriate forum.

Blogs are meant to articulate your thoughts. May be you have a good article related to TW, or may be you have some tips on TW. Post it in your blog. Do NOT post queries in blogs. Anything unrelated to TW goes in the LOUNGE.

Do NOT post resumes anywhere except in the RESUME section.

I have updated the site. Drupal [actually we run on a modified Drupal version called Pressflow] has been updated to the latest version 6.

I have installed a mobile theme. Accessing the site through a mobile phone, should display the site properly.

I have also installed a twitter module. After login, click My Account, click Twitter and set your twitter account details.

Once set, you have the option to announce your post on twitter. Select post to twitter when publishing the post.

Folks, I have added a proper Rapid SSL paid certificate to the site.

This should be compatible on all browsers.

Delete the SSL certificate exceptions for twin-india.org if you have added them to the browser, earlier.

To do this on Mozilla Firefox:

1. Click Edit - Preferences
2. Click Encryption and then click View Certificates
3. Select the Startcom SSL certificates or the older self signed certificates for twin-india.org and www.twin-india.org and click Delete

All software on the server has been upgraded. Files have been backed up and the site is back in operation.

The site is now moved to a faster network and the counter module on the site has been disabled.

That module was practically killing mysql and causing the site to load slow. Examining it, we found that it was counting all the rows in the mysql tables on EACH page load. Bah

After a lot of analysis, we found the module that was the culprit. It has been thrown away.

In preparation for the Tech Writing tests to be launched shortly [http://www.twin-india.org/index.php?q=node/1830] we are testing FLV streaming.

I have created two pages with videos streamed from the TWIN server.

I would like at least 100 people to test each one at the same time to see how the server manages the load and how the network performs.

You need not be logged in to perform this.

You can upload and display your images (e.g. screen shots) in your blog posts from now on.

Place the cursor where you want the image to be inserted, then click the Insert Image option.

The Image Browser Window is displayed.

Click the Browse button and select your image. Leave the Scale if necessary option ticked.

Kindly stick to the HTML tags that are displayed when posting.

The BB code filter will automatically convert the BB tags to the respective tag set. Most of you have been very careful when composing pages and I appreciate that.

However, some of you have used HTML generated by MS Office and other products. This will not work as it is not standards compliant HTML. Your page will look positively ugly. If so, please reformat it according to the tags above.

On the right hand side, you will see all the various tags for the posts on this site.

You can click on a tag to view the various posts tagged with that tag name.
