This is an exciting time to be a part of the Cisco CSG TechDocs group as it establishes a center of excellence in India and presents a host of exciting opportunities for technical communication professionals.\r\n\r\n\r\nRole & Responsibilities:\r\n• Conceptualize, plan, develop and write documentation sets, including complex technical material, with limited or no supervision.\r\n• Identify, plan for, and revise technical writing project requirements, and research complex source material for documentation projects.\r\n• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as TAC, engineering, test, product marketing and other documentation teams to produce accurate, high quality documentation for our customers.\r\n• Help identify and implement standards and process improvements to improve product documentation and productivity.\r\n• Attend and contribute to product/project team meetings.\r\n• Serve as the lead writer for complex projects and ensure that projects are completed on schedule. Participate in planning and design, and contribute to the project from end to end with minimal supervision.\r\n• Work with editors and technical resources to improve documentation quality and usability.\r\n• Actively participate in or lead special projects/initiatives outside the scope of regular tasks.\r\n• Exhibit excellent analytical and problem solving skills.\r\n• Exhibit leadership skills and ability to mentor and supervise junior writers.\r\n\r\n\r\nBusiness/Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Expertise\r\n• High proficiency in networking technology and a thorough understanding of technical writing and project management.\r\n• Experience in producing user documentation including installation guides, configuration guides, CLI guides and Online Help documentation.\r\n• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.\r\n• Strong working knowledge and application of style guides and industry practices.\r\n• Well-versed with Agile and Waterfall methods of product documentation and DDLC.\r\n• Ability to work under pressure to meet frequent deadlines.\r\n• A self-starter possessing excellent research skills and enjoys working hands on with the product.\r\n• Ability to partner with training developers and leverage common information to help create complementary documentation.\r\n• Ability to learn new product, technology, and tools quickly, and mentor junior and mid-level writers.\r\n• Knowledge of using XML-based authoring tools, such as XMetaL and FrameMaker.\r\n• Knowledge of DITA and working knowledge of content management systems.\r\n• Good knowledge of networking domain.\r\n• CCNA certification will be an added advantage.\r\n\r\n\r\nCore Competencies\r\n• Knowledge of technical writing for highly complex networking technology\r\n• Teamwork\r\n• Ability to solve problems and make decisions\r\n• Innovation and learning\r\n• Industry knowledge\r\n• Ability to think globally\r\n• Customer focused\r\n• Leadership skills\r\n• Acknowledged technical expertise on product and domain\r\n• Be a customer advocate\r\n\r\n\r\nAbout Cisco:\r\nThe Internet of Everything is a phenomenon driving new opportunities for Cisco and it's transforming our customers' businesses worldwide.
