    \r\nJob Description – Senior Technical Writer\r\n

    \r\nThe Senior Technical Writer is responsible for writing technical documentation for complex customer products and leading / supporting a small team of writers and editors. The Senior Technical Writer has vast experience in technical communication and can perform independent work in small projects. \r\n

    \r\nREQUIREMENTS \r\n

    • \r\nUniversity / College Degree in (Technical) Communications, Journalism, English and/or any technical field with emphasis on information technology, telecommunications or engineering\r\n
    • Fluent English\r\n
    • High level of technical aptitude\r\n
    • Analytical and conceptual thinking\r\n
    • Ability to create, assimilate, and convey technical content in a concise and effective manner\r\n
    • At least 5 years of technical writing experience with strong authoring, editing, and reviewing skills\r\n
    • DITA expertise with practical knowledge of creating folders, templates, topics, maps per DITA industry specification\r\n
    • Knowledge of various authoring tools, documentation databases and content management systems\r\n
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written\r\n
    • Excellent administration, organizational and time management skills\r\n
    • Excellent computer skills, proficiency in using various text editors\r\n

    • \r\nLead document development life cycle\r\n
    • Analyze development to determine need for update or revision in previously published documentation\r\n
    • Collect source material and background information (requirements, technical notes and product/process information) from developers, testers, product managers\r\n
    • Organize content and complete writing assignment according to set standards (order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology) and project requirements\r\n
    • Lead review cycle for document content with client representatives\r\n
    • Correct document according to review comments\r\n
    • Lead document approval round\r\n
    • Select and apply photographs, drawings, diagrams, charts, etc. to illustrate material\r\n
    • Maintain work records, files and document revisions\r\n
    • Edit, standardize, or make changes to content prepared by other writers or client personnel\r\n
    • Review content written by other writers and recommend revisions or changes in scope, content or format\r\n
    • Develop document templates\r\n
    • Coordinate work assignments / project phases / subprojects\r\n
    • Provide general technical writing support to team members\r\n
    • Train team members (formally and informally) on tools, processes and content best methods (create and present training to small teams and/or mentor through one-on-one’s, or other channels as needed)\r\n
    • Liaise with program managers, subject matter experts, and account manager to identify program documentation deliverables (input for documentation plans)\r\n
    • Study specifications, mockups, and product samples to familiarize with technology, product operating procedure, development sequence and other detail\r\n
    • Interview technical personnel and read background documentation to develop professional competence in product technologies and related production methods\r\n
    • Confer with customer representatives to establish technical specifications\r\n
    • Support sales team to develop technical content for client proposals\r\n
    • Develop quality documentation that adheres to specified standards & styles\r\n
    • Integrate with a strong documentation team that works together, shares a common vision and shows a high level of commitment to quality and deadlines.\r\n
