    NetApp India is looking for a Technical Editor to support its writing groups and coordinate with the centralized publication group in the USA.\r\nAs a Technical Editor, you will work primarily in XML/DITA source files to provide developmental edits and copy edits for writers of product and other technical documentation used by both internal groups and external customers. You will use and further develop your understanding of technical subject matter and interpersonal skills by working with multiple internal clients, including other editors, writers, project leads, developers, and managers.\r\n\r\nEssential Functions:\r\n• Provide developmental edits and copy edits of topics used in installation, configuration, and administration guides; release notes; web pages; and other project documentation at appropriate times during the documentation development cycle.\r\n• Apply NetApp, DITA, and minimalist structured writing standards and styles to all edits.\r\n• Work with writers to find solutions to content placement, organization, structure, and wording challenges.\r\n• Work with writers and project leads to schedule edits for multiple deliverables across multiple projects.\r\n• Work with other editors to establish and enforce new standards and evolve existing standards, and to address style and terminology issues.\r\n\r\nRequirements:\r\n• Excellent oral and written communication skills.\r\n• Excellent grammatical skills.\r\n• Strong planning and organizational skills.\r\n• Strong self-motivation and self-direction skills, with the ability to learn new tools, environments, and technologies, and to thrive without ongoing, detailed managerial and peer direction.\r\n• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with local and remote managers, editors, writers, project leads, and cross-functional peers to meet responsibilities and deadlines.\r\n• This individual must work effectively with staff to director-level employees within the function, and with the technical and writing teams on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.\r\n• This individual receives limited management direction on new projects or assignments, and on review of activities and priorities.\r\n• The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.\r\n• To be successful, this individual must be able to coach and influence others to achieve favorable results.\r\n\r\nEducation and Experience:\r\n• BA or MA in English or related field.\r\n• 5 to 8+ years of technical editing experience.\r\n• Ability to work closely with writers to determine appropriate levels of edits at different phases of documentation development, perform edits, and provide appropriate feedback.\r\n• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling priorities and supporting multiple writers and projects.\r\n• Knowledge of data storage technologies in cluster network and cloud environments a plus.\r\n• Experience working in a content management system and with XML/DITA and HTML.\r\n\r\nInterested in working at NetApp?
