    Role Title Technical Writer \r\n\r\nProposed Global Career Band: 7\r\n\r\nEducation: University graduate \r\n\r\nExperience : 2 to 6 years of relevant experience \r\n\r\nRole Purpose (overall high level summary of the role)\r\n\r\nContributes to the success of a global policy and procedure programme, writing high-quality, consistent, business policies, processes and procedures for business, operational and customer-facing staff. As part of a team of other technical writers and content specialists, the role holder will:\r\n• Work cooperatively with subject matter experts to transform and update existing material by applying structured-writing principles\r\n\r\n• Adhere to the organization’s writing standards, ensuring the material meets its audience’s needs \r\n\r\n• Restructure and consolidate the existing material, where necessary, removing unnecessary duplication and variations \r\n\r\n• Identify opportunities to write common content components in response to global policy requirements, ensuring a consistent approach to addressing requirements wherever possible \r\n\r\n• Provide guidance and quality assurance to others, where required.\r\nPrincipal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas\r\nImpact on the Business / Function Use in day to day work efficient and standard approaches to writing procedural content\r\n\r\n• Ensures content deliverables meet end users’ needs and are fit for purpose and are delivered in a timely manner \r\n\r\n• Provide support for global programmes, by completing key deliverables and ensuring programme standards are applied across countries\r\n• \r\nLeadership & Teamwork\r\n• Work in teams under the guidance of Lead Content Specialist. \r\n\r\n• Participate in knowledge sharing to improve team performance\r\n\r\n• Involve in group activities\r\nSupport peer review of knowledge content \r\n\r\nOperational Effectiveness & Control \r\n\r\n• Work within agreed SLA defined\r\n\r\n• Seek timely support from team lead to remove roadblocks in completing deliverables\r\n\r\n• Build working relationships with SMEs from business services\r\n\r\n• Learn CLIENT’S tools and methodologies for Knowledge and Content management.\r\n\r\nMajor Challenges (The challenges inherent in the role that require a continual test of the role holder’s abilities)\r\n\r\n• Understanding CLIENT’S business and the organization structure and gaining in-depth understanding in some process areas. \r\n\r\n• Operating effectively in large, global projects with geographically dispersed project team members\r\n\r\n• Soliciting information from SMEs to create useful procedural content. \r\nRole Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority)\r\n\r\nRole is located in GSCs Hyderabad or Bangalore. Interfaces exist with GKM, business services and at times business.\r\n\r\nRole operates within a Service Delivery context, in partnership with business service representatives. Role is authorized to seek information and access to available knowledge base. Create procedural and/or knowledge content in strict adherence to group standard guidelines. Whenever possible point out deviations form templates. Decision boundary extends to context of the procedural documentation and procedure topic lists that are applicable to the work being performed.\r\n\r\nKnowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role – not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.)\r\n \r\n• Has performed a technical writing role, with a track record of creating business policies, processes and procedures from source material\r\n\r\n• Can demonstrate an understanding of the creation of audience-focused, structured documentation, application of writing best practice and a commitment to quality\r\n\r\n• Has experience of complying with corporate editorial and writing standards, and of working in a team using a consistent approach\r\n\r\n• Experience of working in a financial services environment, and specific anti money laundering/sanctions or broader regulatory experience, and KYC is an advantage\r\n\r\n• Experience of working on global projects in a large organisation is an advantage\r\n\r\n• Excellent command of the English language, rules and usage, and able to write about complex subjects in simple English.\r\n\r\n• Possesses strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to function effectively as part of a team and consult with subject matter experts\r\n\r\n• Excellent planning and organisation skills\r\n\r\n• Proven ability to prioritize competing demands and work to deadlines\r\n\r\n
