We are a dynamic global team spread across geographies to serve our customers internally as well as externally.\r\n\r\nYour Opportunity\r\nWe are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong record of achievement in the documentation field to join the ILabs doc team as a Principal writer for documenting the Adapter product-line. You will work on documenting products that offer the connectivity between third party systems and the Informatica Platform. The adapters help Informatica products to exploit the huge opportunity from today’s megatrends in big data, such as Cloud, Social Media, and Hadoop. \r\n\r\nAs a Senior / Lead Technical Writer, you are expected to plan and develop the adapter product documents. You should ensure that the quality, technical accuracy, and customer focus are maintained in the deliverables.\r\n\r\nYou will be working in a fast-paced environment alongside energetic software developers, QA engineers, and support engineers. \r\n\r\nOur Ideal Candidate\r\n• Should possess excellent writing and strong project management skills.\r\n• Should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. \r\n• Should be able to understand the global impact of his/her actions, meet deadlines, and take calculative risks. \r\n• Should have proven track record of collaboration with engineering members. \r\n• Should have knowledge of doc processes and doc tools. \r\n• Should have independently executed and managed the projects and delivery. \r\n• Should possess the ability to understand technical concepts, customer requirements, and translate that information in documents.\r\n• Should possess leaderships skills. Should coach junior writers and enhance their writing skills.\r\n\r\nYour Responsibilities\r\n• Understand product architecture and document Informatica’s adapter products using conceptual, task-based, and reference formats. Develop API documents.\r\n• Plan documentation effectively by developing doc plans from agile stories, maintain schedules, and share documentation status with stakeholders.\r\n• Install product builds and test functionality against the documentation for improving the usability and technical quality of docs.\r\n• Ensure cross-team coordination by working with development, QA, and support staff.\r\n• Interact with development, QA, and support staff.\r\n• Create documentation plans, maintain schedules for specific tasks, and share documentation status with stakeholders.\r\n• Edit documentation for completeness, style, and accuracy to ensure it reflects Informatica’s commitment to quality. \r\n• Document How-To articles (H2L) which help customers solve specific feature/task related questions of customers.\r\n• Mentor Junior writers.\r\n• Contribute to process improvements for enhancing efficiency.\r\nYour Qualifications \r\n\r\n• Educational background in Computer Science/Engineering/Science/humanities (BE/B.Tech/MCA/BSc/BA.)\r\n• At least 10 years of writing experience for Java based software applications.\r\n• Knowledge and experience with structured writing techniques. \r\n• Experience in writing or reviewing source code in C, C++, and Java is an advantage.\r\n• Experience in API documentation (Java or Webservices) is an advantage.\r\n• Experience with DITA and XMetaL.\r\n• Hands-on experience in installing and configuring product builds for documentation.\r\n• Understanding of RDBMS concepts.\r\n• Ability to quickly learn technical concepts.\r\n• Excellent project management skills.\r\n• Ability to meet deadlines and help others meet them.\r\n• Ability to prioritize and follow schedules.\r\n• Develop and fine-tune documentation processes.\r\n\r\nCandidate should also possess knowledge of the following.\r\n• Unix/Linux operating systems\r\n• Microsoft Windows operating system\r\n• Experience in using content management systems\r\n• Knowledge of DITA specializations, style sheets, XSLT transformations\r\n• Experience with Agile development cycles\r\n• Experience working with a translation team to produce PDFs and online help in multiple languages\r\n• Exposure to Data Integration (includes Messaging, JMS, ESB), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), \r\n
